Team Bash (The Itasca Area Cancer Crisis Fund)
We are excited to present the 2017 Bash on June 24th 2017 at Portage Park in Cohasset, MN. What started in 2010 as a community event supporting and honoring our dear friend, Jackie Bischoff, the 2017 Bash will continue many of the same fun activities as previous years, as well as adding some exciting new ones.
Most of you know that Jackie Bischoff died at too young an age from cancer, soon after the first Bash in 2010. The public support for Jackie, and this event, was so strong that organizers knew they could do more to help those impacted by cancer in our community. Thus, the Itasca Area Cancer Crisis Fund (IACCF) was created. The IACCF is a Component Fund of the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation. Proceeds from the 2017 Bash will once again be dedicated in support of the IACCF. So, what does this mean?
The IACCF helps people in our community by providing small crisis grants to support LOCAL families and individuals dealing with cancer. For the most part these grants are directed to support incidental costs of cancer treatment, such as gas to appointments or hotel costs once there. This is no small deal! Since its inception in 2010, the IACCF has awarded over 800 grants and $225,000 to help our friends and neighbors dealing with cancer. With an eye toward the future, Team Bash recently established an endowment to grow alongside the IACCF with a vision to one day provide even greater support – forever!
We realize everyone can’t make it to the event, but every donation helps If you wish to support us you can visit the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation and make a donation on their website www.gracf.org in honor of the IACCF. You may also mail a donation to the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation, 350 NW 1st Ave, Grand Rapids, MN 55744.
We expect this annual event to be an incredibly fun day for everyone involved and we would love to have you be a part of it! Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.
